The LunchBox Relief program relieves food insecurity among children. Children’s intake of adequate and healthy food helps them physically, emotionally, and behaviourally.
Snacking is important for children because it provides their growing bodies nutrients and hydration. Studies show snacks contribute over 20% of the daily energy intake of children.
This program will help struggling families who constantly worry about how to feed their children throughout the school term.

PROJECT OBJECTIVES:
- Provide immediate crisis support by offering food items to school children in our multicultural community.
- Ensures parents and guardians can provide daily nutrition to their children.
- Alleviate the stress, anxiety, and embarrassment to those students who often don’t have anything to eat at school.
- Support all families in Greater Western Sydney affected by financial hardship.
- Improve the lives of children and empower them to be healthier, happier and more secure.
THE PACK INCLUDES:
Each pack is sufficient for 5 days of recess and lunch snacks and will include items such as: fruit, muesli bars, juice boxes, etc.
This allows for the 5-day pack to be available in the child’s home ready for the following school week.
Snack packs are collected by the parent/guardian of the disadvantaged child
from our Community Centre in Wakeley on Fridays 2:30 pm-4:30 pm

Community Action Services Australia (CASA) Inc. supports vulnerable families, especially those from non-English speaking and humanitarian backgrounds, who are struggling to become self-sufficient. Many families find it difficult to move ahead when they cannot even address their basic needs.
CASA supports all families in Greater Western Sydney affected by financial stress, hardship, poor self-esteem, and lack of dignity. Improving the lives of children and empowering them is paramount to achieving the objectives of our organisation.
Children are our future, but they must be our present.
