- To offer support services and provide for the basic needs that all people have the right to receive.
- To use innovative strategies that mobilise low-income people and the broader community to build assets that prevent poverty.
- To offer a financial information service to help people improve their standard of living by using their own money to the best advantage.
- To develop opportunities that make people less dependent and more self-sufficient, achieving a positive¬ and independent future.
- To assist unemployed people in situations of helplessness to become more self-reliant during periods of unemployment.
- To engage the Private Sector in combating poverty and its causes.
- To develop the capacity of unemployed people for obtaining employment.
- To facilitate the development of opportunities and resources for the community in the area of employment and business development in order to promote leadership and self-sufficiency, including regional/state, national and international networks.
- To alleviate loneliness and other misfortunes suffered by the aged and frail who are unable to readily mix in society.
- To increase public awareness about the challenges that many people with low incomes face.
