Community Care

Community Care

We pursue our mission of assisting people in a way that maintains their dignity and overcome hardship in the best possible manner through support, resources and relationships that will help them rise above the economic, racial or cultural barriers to establish and maintain self-sufficiency.
We empower families to become self-reliant by providing short-term assistance to resolve their immediate crisis followed by continued support to attain financial stability and self-reliance.
We develop different types of services to benefit the community and empower people to make changes in their lives.
Community Care assist people in need and benefits not only the person that seeks assistance but also the family, thus creating a healthier society.

Food Hampers

Every week our committed volunteer prepare a huge quantity of food hampers to help people in need.
CASA in partnership with OZHarvest, Foodbank and generous donations from our sponsors offer weekly food hampers with fresh, frozen, perishable and non-perishable items. This service is available every Thursday to families with a Centrelink card or are low-income earners.

EAPA Vouchers

The Energy Accounts Payment Assistance (EAPA) Scheme provides energy vouchers to eligible residential energy customers experiencing a short-term financial crisis or emergencies, such as unexpected medical bills, or reduced income, that leave them unable to pay their current residential energy bill(s).

Only one (1) person per household will be assessed. Available twice in 12 months or a maximum of $1000 per year (financial year).

Help Now Program

Our Emergency Relief service provides assistance to people in financial crisis by helping them deal with their immediate situation in a way that maintains dignity and encourages self-reliance. We do this by providing short-term emergency, financial or material assistance.

In times of financial crisis or adversity, emergency assistance provides material or financial aid (e.g. vouchers, and food hampers) to help people meet their immediate basic requirements. Assistance is provided in a manner that upholds the honour of persons and families while promoting independence. In addition to providing material and financial support, we also connect individuals with community-based programs to assist them in addressing issues that are impacting their financial well-being.
